The Garden Kitchen opened in 2014 by the team behind the Garden Café at the Botanic Garden and is proud to be one of Mill Roads many independent traders. We carefully source ingredients to prepare rustic, hearty dishes. Some on the healthy side, others more indulgent. We are proud to say our packaging is 100% biodegradable (vegware.co.uk) including our coffee cup lids and salad pots, which are made from corn starch.

12pm main dishes
Every day at 12 we bring out two main dishes, a pasta and a slice. Expect to see things like: lasagne, stews, moussaka, Tartiflette, parmigiana, pies and meatballs.
Our pasta dish is different every day and includes favourites like mac and cheese, smoked salmon and broccoli to roasted vegetables and goats cheese.
Our giant slice ranges from roasted squash, stilton and Parma ham to sliced potato, cheddar and rosemary with everything in between.

Wraps, made to order
Falafel, free range chicken, grilled halloumi, roasted vegetables, all come with red cabbage slaw, leaves and your choice of dressing.

Expect to find our chocolate brownies, carrot cakes, fruit cakes and ginger cake together with some delicious non gluten recipes like our chocolate Caprese cake and our vegan date flapjack.
In the Chiller
Our chiller is always stocked with savouries like our spinach and feta pie, quiches, tortillas and plenty of no gluten options too, perfect for a takeaway option to pick up on the way home.
Top shelf features non-gluten items like our tortilla, stuffed aubergines and roulades.Other items include Spinach and feta pie, sausage and egg pie, quiches and pastries.

Our daahl is vegan and the recipe is gluten free. Our soup is usually a gluten free recipe and often vegan too, best to check on the day though. Lots of our salads are suitable for vegans and people on exclusion diets and we are always happy to talk you through other items on the menu.
